Saint John of God Hospitaller Services Malawi is a non-profit, faith-based healthcare organization established in 1994, providing mental health services, early intervention, inclusive education, vocational training, and rehabilitation services.

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician will support the delivery of pharmaceutical services under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation, dispensing, and distribution of medications in accordance with prescriptions and hospital policies
• Maintain accurate patient medication records and pharmacy inventory
• Ensure proper storage and handling of pharmaceutical products
• Support medication management and stock control
• Monitor and report on drug usage and stock levels
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and professional standards

Qualifications and Experience:

• Diploma in Pharmacy Technology or equivalent from a recognized institution
• Registration with the relevant professional regulatory body
• Minimum of 1–2 years' relevant work experience, preferably in a hospital setting
• Knowledge of psychiatric medications will be an added advantage
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
• Willingness to work with people with mental health conditions
• Commitment to the organization's Child and Vulnerable Adult Protection Policy
