PROCUREMENT & PRODUCT MANAGEMENT OFFICER


Location: Blantyre (Hardelec House, Victoria Avenue / Njamba, with moderate rural travel)

Organisation: Africa Sun Power Limited (AFSP)

Type: Full Time (1 year renewable contract, 3 month probation)

Closing Date: Wednesday, 3rd June 2026




About AFSP Africa Sun Power Limited is a locally incorporated private organisation pioneering Off Grid Solar E Cooking Systems (OGSECS) in Malawi. Supported by a CLASP/MECS Venture Building Grant, AFSP is validating the technical performance, commercial viability, and investability of its innovative solar cooking solutions.


Key Responsibilities

• Define product configurations, assign model numbers, and develop specifications

• Oversee technical documentation (manuals, installation guides)

• Forecast supply requirements and prepare procurement schedules

• Manage procurement, assembly, packaging, and quality control

• Implement inventory and distribution systems (paper & digital ERP)

• Prepare weekly/monthly reports on procurement, production, and deliveries

• Coordinate daily with management teams


🎓 Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma/Bachelor’s in Information Systems, Engineering, Physical Sciences, Business Management, or related field

• 3–5 years’ experience in: • Solar product production/distribution/supply chain operations • Procurement, inventory management, or business operations • Contract or team management

• Experience in solar energy systems or rural field operations is an advantage


Skills & Competencies

• Strong data management and record keeping

• Knowledge of solar energy systems/components

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel & digital tools (Google Workspace, WhatsApp, Forms)

• Inventory/supply chain systems experience

• Analytical, problem solving, and coordination skills

• High integrity, attention to detail, and ability to work independently


Additional Requirements

• Willingness to travel frequently to rural communities

• Basic technical literacy (smartphones, Excel, data tools)
