POSITION: AQUACULTURE ADVISOR (MONITORING & EVALUATION)
Location: Lilongwe
Project: Sustainable Aquatic Foods (SAF)
Location: Lilongwe (with extensive travel to project districts)
Reports to: Team Leader

Main Areas of Responsibility
1. Technical Aquaculture Support
Coordinate training programs for fish farmers, ToTs, NGOs, and government partners.
Promote climate-smart aquaculture and innovative approaches.
Support knowledge sharing, documentation of lessons learned, and quality assurance.
2. Management of Local Subsidy Agreements (LSAs)
Oversee NGO contracts, budgets, deliverables, compliance, and reporting.
Monitor performance and financial accountability.
Support due diligence, audits, contract amendments, and partner capacity building.
3. Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E)
Develop and manage project monitoring systems and indicators.
Guide data collection, quality assurance, analysis, and reporting.
Conduct field monitoring, support evaluations and surveys, and maintain project databases.
Prepare reports for management, donors, and project steering structures.
Key Qualifications
Master's degree (or equivalent experience) in aquaculture, fisheries, agriculture, M&E, rural development, or a related field.
Strong knowledge of climate-smart aquaculture and results-based management.
Experience with M&E tools such as KoboToolbox, ODK, SPSS, STATA, Power BI, etc.
Fluency in English and Chichewa.
Experience Required
At least 5 years of relevant professional experience.
Experience in:
Aquaculture/agriculture/rural development projects.
Training and capacity building.
Partnership and contract/grant management.
Monitoring, evaluation, data management, and donor reporting.
