POSITION: AGRIBUSINESS EXTENSION MANAGER

Mvula Piped Water Limited is a private utility company delivering reliable piped water services and supporting sustainable water use in rural communities. The company works closely with agricultural enterprises to promote efficient water management and improved productivity for farms and agribusinesses. By integrating water supply solutions with agricultural support, Mvula Piped Water Limited aims to strengthen local livelihoods and enhance food security.

Role Description The Agribusiness Extension Manager is a contract, on-site role based in Kandeu, Ntcheu, responsible for supporting farms and agribusiness clients in optimizing water use and agricultural productivity. Day-to-day tasks include providing technical guidance on sustainable irrigation practices. The role involves conducting field visits, training farmers and agribusiness staff, organizing extension activities, and monitoring.

The Agribusiness Extension Manager will collaborate with internal teams to align water services with agricultural needs, prepare reports and recommendations, and engage with local partners and community leaders. The position also requires tracking performance indicators, identifying areas for improvement, and contributing to project planning and implementation.

Qualifications

Strong knowledge of Agriculture and practical experience working with Farms and agribusiness operations.

Demonstrated skills in Irrigation planning, water-use efficiency, and on-farm water management.

Experience in Farm Management, including production planning, resource allocation, and record keeping.

Hands-on experience with Poultry production, including husbandry, health, and basic enterprise management.

Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Agricultural Extension, or a related field.

Experience in community outreach, farmer training, and participatory extension methods.

Ability to analyze farm performance data, prepare clear reports, and communicate recommendations effectively.

Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with diverse communities and stakeholders on-site.

Proficiency in basic computer applications for documentation, reporting, and data management.

Previous experience in water-related or rural development projects is an added advantage.
