Position: Medical Data Entry Clerk Intern

Location: Namikango Mission Health Centre, Thondwe, Zomba

About Namikango Mission

Namikango Mission is a Church of Christ institution dedicated to transforming African communities through Christ-centred ministry. The Mission operates a health centre offering maternity, outpatient (OPD), HIV Testing Services (HTS), and environmental health services. Applications are invited from qualified and motivated individuals for the position of Medical Data Entry Clerk Intern.

Key Responsibilities

Accurately enter patient data into both physical and electronic Health Management Information Systems (HMIS).

Verify and update patient records to ensure data accuracy and completeness.

Maintain confidentiality and security of patient information.

Assist healthcare professionals by providing required patient information.

Review and correct errors or inconsistencies in medical records.

Work closely with medical staff to improve data quality.

Organize and manage both physical and electronic medical records.

Qualifications and Requirements

Diploma in Public Health, Health Information Systems, Statistics, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field from a recognized institution.

Previous experience in medical data entry or health information management will be an added advantage.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare procedures.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Must be a member of the Church of Christ with a passion for ministry.
