POSITION: Internal Auditor

Overview
Shopwise is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the position of Internal Auditor. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating internal controls, conducting audits, identifying risks, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations across supermarket branches.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement internal audit plans and schedules.
- Conduct financial, operational, and compliance audits across supermarket branches.
- Review internal controls and identify areas for improvement.
- Verify inventory records and perform stock audits.
- Assess compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
- Identify risks and recommend practical solutions to strengthen internal controls.
- Prepare detailed audit reports and present findings to management.
- Follow up on audit recommendations to ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Investigate suspected fraud, theft, or financial irregularities when required.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, or a related field.
- Professional qualification such as ICAM, ACCA, CIMA, or CIA is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in internal auditing, preferably in the retail or supermarket sector.
- Strong knowledge of auditing standards, risk management, and internal controls.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with accounting or ERP systems is an added advantage.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and report-writing skills.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
