POSITION: PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR

Location: Karonga

OVERVIEW

CHAMBAYIKA MILLING LIMITED is a growing agro-processing company engaged in the processing and distribution of high-quality Kilombero rice under the KARONGA FINEST RICE brand.

The Company invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the following positions:

1. PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR

Duty Station: Nyungwe, Karonga

The Production Supervisor will oversee day-to-day operations at the Company’s rice processing factory, ensuring efficient production, product quality, proper use of resources and achievement of production targets.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise rice milling, grading, packaging and related production activities.

Prepare and implement production schedules to achieve agreed targets.

Supervise production workers, allocate duties and monitor their performance.

Ensure efficient use of raw materials, packaging materials, machinery and other resources.

Monitor product quality and ensure compliance with established food-safety and quality standards.

Maintain accurate records of production, stock, wastage and equipment performance.

Coordinate the receipt, storage and issuance of paddy rice and finished products.

Enforce workplace health, safety, hygiene and sanitation requirements.

Ensure proper cleaning and routine maintenance of production machinery.

Identify production challenges and coordinate timely corrective action.

Prepare and submit daily, weekly and monthly production reports.

Perform other duties assigned by management.

Qualifications and Experience

A degree or diploma in Food Science and Technology, Agricultural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

At least five years of relevant production or factory-supervision experience, preferably in rice milling, food processing or agro-processing.

Practical knowledge of production planning, quality control, stock management and machinery operations.

Strong leadership, team-management and problem-solving skills.

Good record-keeping and report-writing abilities.

Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.

Ability to work under pressure and meet production targets.

High level of integrity, discipline and attention to detail.

Applicants must already be living in Karonga or be willing to relocate.
