Workshop Assistant

INTRODUCTION AND BACKGROUND

Lilongwe Handling Company Limited (LIHACO) is a wholly Malawi Government owned commercial entity established in 2000. The core business of the company is to provide to provide passenger, ramp and cargo handling services to national and international airlines, travel & tour and lounge services to passengers traveling in and out of Malawi Airports. The Company is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following vacant position at Bakili Muluzi International Airport and Kamuzu International Airport.

Post: Workshop Assistant (LH 10)

Responsible to: Maintenance Charge Hand

Responsible for: None

Main Duties

Maintain a clean and tidy premise in the workshop, including the external areas.

Cleaning offices and washrooms

Assist Technicians where required in – house.

Assist stores with deliveries and collections.

Assist in performing minor maintenance e.g. oil change, welding and tyre fitting.

Cleaning GSE after being maintained from the workshop.

Ensuring safety and security during cleaning in the workshop.

Performing messengerial roles.

Education and Qualification

Minimum of Malawi School Certificate of Education

Knowledge and Experience

Basic understanding of motor vehicle or Ground Support Equipment (GSE) maintenance processes will be an added advantage.
