POSITION:  COOK/CHEF 

Location: Rural Nkhotakota

We are a busy, high standard restaurant serving delicious modern international and local cuisine. Our restaurant has an extremely good reputation. We are looking for a skilled Cook / Chefe to prepare delicious meals according to menu. We are looking for someone with at least four years experience cooking in different styles and cuisines – everything from traditional Malawian classics to Asian and Italian -inspired dishes. The goal is to help preserve and enhance our reputation so we can expand our clientele. The position is located in the rural areas of Nkhotakota . Our Chef will be accommodated in the nearby village.

Responsibilities

Cook food in various utensils or grillers

Check food while cooking to stir or turn

Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served

Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen

Ensure all food and other items are stored properly

Check quality of ingredients

Monitor stock and place orders when there are shortages

Requirements and skills

Proven experience as cook

Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)

Ability to follow strict sanitation and health procedures

Ability to work in a team and sometimes under pressure

Very good communication skills

Excellent physical condition and stamina

Diploma from a culinary school will be an advantage
