POSITION: SOFTWARE DEVELOPER – DIGITAL PLATFORM MVP
Location: Lilongwe, Malawi (hybrid/remote arrangements may be considered)
ABOUT THE ROLE
AHFB (Africa Health Funding Bridge) is seeking a capable software developer to join an early-stage digital product development project.
You will take a product from concept through to a functional Minimum Viable Product (MVP), with technical collaboration from an experienced technology specialist. The project will be developed iteratively from MVP to a scalable product.
This role is suited for someone who can build, can think, and can take ownership, with a passion for building innovative technology solutions for African markets.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Strong practical software development skills.
- Experience building web and/or mobile applications.
- Database and API experience.
- Good understanding of user authentication and dashboards.
- Ability to design and build clean, functional interfaces.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of development.
- Interest in building innovative technology solutions for African markets.
- A degree/diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or a related field is an advantage — but demonstrated ability and a strong portfolio are more important.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build a functional MVP for a digital platform.
- Develop web/mobile applications, databases, and APIs.
- Implement user authentication systems and dashboards.
- Design and develop clean, user-friendly interfaces.
- Collaborate with an experienced technology specialist on product development.
- Iteratively improve the product from MVP to a scalable solution.
- Take full ownership of the development lifecycle.
