Montfort Media Limited, a leading printing and publishing house based in Balaka, is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals to fill the positions of Binders in the following categories: Guillotine Operator, Folding Machine Operator and Perforating Machine Operator in our Bindery department.

🎯 Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Guillotine Operator

The Guillotine Operator will be responsible for:

• Trimming paper, books, and other printed materials according to specifications

• Setting measurements and adjusting machine settings to ensure accurate cutting

• Reading and interpreting job orders to determine required sizes, quantities and cutting instructions

2. Folding Machine Operator

The Folding Machine Operator will be responsible for:

• Operating the folding machine to fold printed sheets into various formats such as brochures, book sections and covers.

• Setting up and adjusting machine settings including roller pressure, fold plates, guides and feeders according to job specifications

• Read and understand job tickets to determine folding style, quantity and lay out requirements.

• Check samples for accuracy to ensure folds are clean, aligned, and meet quality standards

3. Perforating Machine Operator

The perforating machine operator will be responsible for:

• Operating the perforating machine to punch small holes or create tear lines on printed sheets, books, forms and packaging materials.

• Setting up and adjusting the machine by configuring perforation blades, spacing depth and alignment as required.

• Reading and interpreting job tickets to understand perforation patterns, quantities and deadlines.

Qualifications and requirements 

• Applicants must be skilled and experienced in the relevant machine operation.

• Those with MSCE and certificates from the recognized institutions will have an added advantage.

• Must have the ability to work under minimal supervision and meet production targets

• Must be team players and have good communication skills
