POSITION: AUTO MECHANIC

Location: Lilongwe

 PURPOSE 

Auto Mechanics are required to repair and maintain different types of vehicles, such as Lorries, trucks, buses, heavy vehicles, cars, etc. They perform restorative and preventative work on gearbox, brakes, air systems , engine overhauling, electricals and  test vehicles to find faults and carry out routine servicing of cars and Excellent customer care skills.

Department: Workshop

Key Responsibilities:

Diagnoses, repairs and overhauls engines, transmissions, components, electrical and fuel systems, etc. for various vehicles.

Performs tune ups, brake jobs and other preventative maintenance on vehicles, replaces common parts and adjusts.

Assists in the writing of specifications for acquisition of parts.

Responds to routine and emergency calls for repairs and service.

Ensures that actual hours worked are in line with set targets.

Carry out any other duties as directed by superiors.

Desired Profile:

Ability to work without supervision.

Valid driver’s license.

Understands high level of safety in the workshop and sites.

Ability to speak read and write English.

Good communication skills

Flexible

Have good manual dexterity.

Have a suitable fitness level.

Having excellent knowledge about motor technology.

Strong organizational skills.

Have good concentration.

Excellent time management skills.

Have strong interest in motor vehicles.

Excellent customer care skills.

Carry out any other duties as directed by superiors.

Educational

Qualifications: Grade one of motor vehicle mechanics

Experience: 6 Years’ experience as an Auto Mechanic for all types of vehicles both in the workshop and site.

Competencies:

Ability to work without supervision.

Valid driver’s license.

Understands high level of safety in the workshop and sites.

Ability to speak read and write English.

Good communication skills

Flexible

Have good manual dexterity.

Have a suitable fitness level.
