Position: Sterilization Technician

Location: Blantyre, Malawi

About the Role:

MSF is seeking a Sterilization Technician to support its medical operations at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital in Blantyre. The role ensures proper sterilization of medical equipment, instruments, and workspaces in compliance with MSF protocols and international hygiene standards.

Key Responsibilities:

- Apply sterilization and hygiene protocols strictly and seek guidance when needed

- Maintain clean, disinfected, and safe working environments

- Prepare, organize, pack, and label medical instruments correctly

- Deliver sterilized instruments to screening rooms as required

- Monitor inventory of cleaning materials and PPE, reporting shortages

- Report damaged, incomplete, or malfunctioning instruments

- Collaborate with other departments (Laundry, OT, IPD, OPD, QECH)

- Participate in 24-hour shift rotations, including weekends

- Attend training on sterilization, biohazard waste management, and hospital cleaning procedures

Qualifications & Experience:

- Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE)

- Previous experience in a relevant role is desirable

- Fluency in English and Chichewa
