JOB VACANCY: Laboratory Assistant (Grade L)
Position: Laboratory Assistant (L)
Location: Magawa, Mchinji
Reporting To: Senior Laboratory Technician
Department: Clinical
St. Michael's Guilleme Community Hospital – a Catholic institution under the Archdiocese of Lilongwe (Under CHAM Umbrella) – is inviting applications from qualified and dedicated candidates to fill the position of Laboratory Assistant in Mchinji.

Key Responsibilities
• Receive, label, and register patient specimens
• Assist in specimen preparation and routine lab procedures
• Maintain cleanliness, sterilization & infection prevention standards
• Store samples, chemicals & reagents properly
• Dispose of biohazard waste safely
• Monitor stock levels and report shortages
• Record basic lab data and assist with filing reports
Qualifications & Skills
• MSCE or equivalent
• Certificate in Laboratory Technology or Biomedical Sciences
• Knowledge of laboratory safety & infection prevention
• Good communication & organizational skills
• Basic computer literacy (added advantage)
• Honest, reliable & able to maintain confidentiality
