Location: Country Office – Blantyre

Reporting to: MEL Specialist

Contract: 6-Month Fixed Term

Project Hope is seeking a qualified MEL Officer to support the effective implementation of MEL activities for the ANAPA Nutrition Program across nine districts.

Job Summary:

The MEL Officer will coordinate data collection, analysis, and use for performance measurement of nutrition interventions. The role involves training district MEL officers, ensuring data quality, and supporting reporting requirements for the program.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Support operationalization of the Nutrition MEL framework and indicator matrix
  • Ensure nutrition indicators are integrated into ANAPA data systems and aligned with national systems (HMIS/DHIS2, NNIS, iCHIS)
  • Maintain performance tracking tools and dashboards for all 9 districts
  • Coordinate data flow between districts and Central Office
  • Conduct routine data verification and validation of nutrition indicators
  • Lead monthly data quality reviews and quarterly DQA exercises
  • Track completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of nutrition data
  • Analyze nutrition performance data against targets and produce reports
  • Develop dashboards and visual analytics for progress tracking
  • Support training and mentorship of district MEL staff on nutrition data tools
  • Strengthen data literacy among program staff
  • Support preparation of donor reports, presentations, and briefs
  • Contribute to research, documentation, and knowledge management

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Public Health, Statistics, Nutrition, Health Informatics, or related field
  • 3–5 years' experience in Monitoring & Evaluation within health or nutrition programs
  • Demonstrated experience with DHIS2/HMIS or similar health information systems
  • Experience supporting donor-funded programs (USG preferred)
  • Strong data analysis skills with statistical software (Stata, R preferred)
  • Experience developing dashboards (Power BI or similar is an added advantage)
