POSITION: FINISHING BRICKLAYERS (4 POSITIONS)

Position: Finishing Bricklayers (4)

Location: Lilongwe

Reporting to: Site Engineer

A Construction Foreman is a professional who is the glue that holds construction companies. They work closely with managers/Engineers to determine hiring needs, deadlines for specific tasks as well as safety protocols to enforce among workers. They host meetings on-site and use their trade experience in this role, depending upon what’s needed most within an industry setting.

Job Description

Intercity Building Contractors is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals to fill the position of Finisher Bricklayers (4 positions) to work on various sites within Lilongwe.

Job Description:

The Finisher Bricklayer will be responsible for carrying out high-quality finishing works on construction sites to meet company standards and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform plastering, rendering, and screeding works

Lay bricks and blocks with precision for finishing structures

Carry out surface finishing to a smooth and level standard

Repair and touch up defective works

Interpret drawings and follow site instructions accurately

Ensure proper use and care of tools and materials

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area

Work closely with supervisors and other team members to meet deadlines

Requirements:

Must be based in Lilongwe (preferred)

Academic background in Bricklaying or related field

Minimum of 5–7 years proven experience in finishing works

Skills & Competencies:

Strong finishing and plastering skills

Attention to detail and high-quality workmanship

Ability to read and interpret construction drawings

Good time management and ability to meet targets

Physical fitness and ability to work under pressure

Teamwork and communication skills

Knowledge of construction safety practices
