POSITION: SHOPKEEPER

Location: Lilongwe

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a shopkeeper responsible for managing the daily operations of the shop, ensuring excellent customer service, maintaining stock levels, handling cash transactions, and keeping the store clean and organized. The role requires honesty, attention to detail, and strong interpersonal skills to support smooth business operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Welcome and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.

Provide product information and guide customers in making purchases.

Ensure customer satisfaction and handle complaints politely.

Keep the shop neat, clean and well-organized.

Monitor stock levels and inform management when reorders are needed.

Handle cash, mobile money and POS transactions accurately.

Issue receipts and maintain daily sales records.

Balance cash at the end of the day and prepare reports.

Follow company policies and procedures.

Ensure hygiene, safety and security standards are maintained in the shop.

Qualifications & Skills

Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or equivalent.

Previous experience in sales or shop management is an added advantage.

Good numeracy and record-keeping skills.

Ability to use basic technology (POS system, calculator, or mobile money platforms).

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Honest, reliable and customer oriented.
