Future Vision Ministries-Canada is a duly registered Canadian faith-based organization with a mandate to minister to the needs of the whole person - spirit, soul and body - within the framework of their cultural and ethnic heritage.
Sunuzi Health Centre serves a population of 30,000 people in Zomba District within the area of GVH Taulo under T/A Ngwelero. Set on 4 hectares of land, it is the newest and one of the most advanced Health Centres in Malawi. At over 900 square meters, it is the first of its kind in Sunuzi, meeting or exceeding all government standards and requirements. The Health Centre was constructed as a sole initiative of Future Vision Ministries - Canada at the request of the population and in consultation and compliance with all relevant government ministries and officials.
*Job Summary*
To provide high-quality HIV Testing Services, adherence counselling, psychosocial support, linkage to care, and treatment support services to clients accessing HIV prevention, care, and treatment services at the health facility and community level in accordance with Ministry of Health guidelines and organizational policies.
*Key Duties and Responsibilities*
HIV Testing and Counselling Services
Conduct provider-initiated and client-initiated HIV testing and counselling services
Provide pre-test information and post-test counselling to clients
Ensure confidentiality, privacy, and informed consent during all counselling sessions
Perform HIV rapid testing according to national testing algorithms and quality assurance standards
Document and record all HTS activities accurately in relevant registers and reporting tools
Facilitate index testing and partner referral services in line with Ministry of Health guidelines
ART Treatment Support Services
Provide adherence counselling and treatment literacy education to ART clients
Support newly diagnosed clients with linkage and initiation into ART services
Conduct follow-up and retention activities for clients who miss appointments or default treatment
Educate clients on medication adherence, viral load monitoring, positive living, and prevention strategies
Identify clients requiring enhanced adherence counselling and refer appropriately
Provide psychosocial support to clients and caregivers
Community and Client Support
Participate in community outreach activities and HIV awareness campaigns
Support defaulter tracing and follow-up activities within the catchment area
Promote stigma reduction and encourage uptake of HIV services
Work collaboratively with community health workers, peer supporters, and facility staff
*Qualifications and Requirements*
Certificate or Diploma in HIV/AIDS Counselling, Psychosocial Counselling, Community Health, or related field
Certified in HIV Testing Services training recognized by the Ministry of Health
Knowledge of ART, adherence counselling, and HIV care services
Minimum of 1 to 2 years’ experience in HIV-related programs or health facility setting is an added advantage
Experience in community-based HIV interventions will be an added advantage

Strong counselling and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional ethics
Good report writing and documentation skills
Ability to work with diverse populations sensitively and respectfully
Basic computer literacy and data management skills
Ability to work under minimal supervision and as part of a multidisciplinary team
*Working Conditions*
The position may require occasional travel within the facility catchment area for community follow-up, outreach activities, and defaulter tracing
