POSITION: FARM SUPERVISOR

Location: Lilongwe

OVERVIEW

Blue-line Agricultural Enterprise is a marketing and consultancy local business entity which aims at promoting the growing of high value crops.

Our aim is to curb the economic challenges faced by smallholder farmers through provision of technical advice so that they produce quality crops which can meet international standards on the market.

We are also into commercial farming whereby Bird's Eye Chilli and Black pepper are grown on a 50 hectares land.

Blue-line Agricultural Enterprise would like to engage the services of Farm Supervisor at the company's farm in Lilongwe.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The prospective Farm Supervisor should be responsible for:

- Cultivation of high value crops such as Bird's Eye Chilli and Black pepper.

- Carrying out irrigation activities at the farm.

- Implementation of all farm activities in line with Detailed Implementation Plan (DIP).

- Manage a workforce of 30 workers within the organization.

- Work closely with Field Officer to achieve targets set by management.

- Preparing monthly report and work plan for submission to the Technical Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

The prospective candidate should have an MSCE plus a Certificate/Diploma in Agriculture with 3 years work experience at a farm with an irrigation setting. Knowledge in participatory extension methodologies will be an added advantage.
