POSITION: Business Development Manager

The company is seeking a well-qualified and experienced individual to fill the position of Business Development Manager at its Blantyre office. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Business Development and will be responsible for generating and developing business.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain relationships with existing customers through regular review visits
- Visit potential customers to demonstrate products and gain new markets
- Act as a link between the company and existing/potential markets
- Contact clients to negotiate terms and close sales
- Gather market and customer information
- Participate in trade exhibitions and product demonstrations
- Negotiate pricing, delivery, and specifications with internal and external stakeholders
- Advise on promotions and product developments
- Record enquiries, sales, and customer details accurately
- Review personal sales performance
- Understand customer requirements clearly
- Prepare accurate and quick cost calculations
- Report market trends and customer insights to management
- Prospect new customers and meet sales targets
- Extend sales opportunities with existing clients
- Continuously analyze client and prospect needs
- Promote company products through direct and channel marketing
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related Social Sciences
- 5–8 years of experience in business development (at least 2 years in a similar role)
- Strong presentation and communication skills
- Proven leadership and people management skills
- Experience in meeting sales targets
- Experience in marketing and branding initiatives
- Understanding of regulatory frameworks and business statutes
