POSITION: PLUMBER

Location: Lilongwe

OVERVIEW 

Shacon Ltd is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the position of Plumber in Lilongwe.

Reporting To: Site Agent/Foreman

Job Summary:

The Plumber will be responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and servicing plumbing systems, water supply lines, drainage systems, and related fittings. The role requires ensuring that all plumbing works are completed safely, efficiently, and according to required quality standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying faults, carrying out repairs, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring proper functioning of plumbing installations within the organization's projects and facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Read blueprints and drawings to understand or plan the layout of plumbing, waste disposal and water supply systems

Cut, assemble and install pipes and tubes with attention to existing infrastructure (e.g. electrical wiring)

Install and maintain water supply systems

Locate and repair issues with water supply lines (e.g. leaks)

Repair or replace broken drainage lines, clogged drains, faucets etc.

Repair domestic appliances (e.g. washing machines) and fixtures (e.g. sinks) etc.

Daily, weekly and monthly progress report indicating key milestones deliverables of the project

And any other duties as may be assigned from time to time

Qualifications and Experience:

Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or equivalent

Must have a Trade Test Certificate Grade 1 or Grade 2 in the relevant field

Minimum of 3 years practical experience as a Plumber/Electrician

Ability to work independently with minimum supervision

Good communication and problem-solving skills

Experience in construction/industrial projects will be an added advantage
