POSITION: DEPUTY DIRECTOR OF LEGAL AID BUREAU (GRADE D)

Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Law.
- Must be entitled to practice as a legal practitioner under the Legal Education and Legal Practitioners Act.
- Must have been entitled to practice law for a period of not less than ten (10) years.
- Experience in the provision of legal aid will be an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Director in providing legal aid in accordance with the Legal Aid Act, 2010.
- Determine persons and matters eligible for legal aid.
- Establish priorities in the provision of legal aid services.
- Manage Legal Aid Bureau offices and operations.
- Liaise with civil society organizations and other stakeholders involved in legal aid.
- Conduct research on legal aid financing and service delivery.
- Compile reports and make recommendations on legal aid matters.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director.
Reporting To:
- Director of the Legal Aid Bureau
Contract Duration:
- Initial five (5) year contract, renewable for an additional five (5) years subject to eligibility.
