SYNOD OF BLANTYRE-NAMING’AZI FARM

POSITION: ACCOUNTS OFFICER


OVERVIEW

Applicants are invited from suitably qualified and experienced individuals to fill a Vacant position of an Accounts Officer Tenable at Naming’azi Farm Institute.

JOB PURPOSE: The Accounts Officer is responsible for managing the accounting records of Naminga’zi Farm and professionally preparing and analyzing financial reports.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Provide support to the business in planning and performance measurement process for the business units – through budget preparations and monthly periodic reporting.

Maintain general ledger, including, preparing journal entries, coding invoices, accounts analysis and reconciliation, closing books and setting up new accounts.

Prepare monthly and annual financial reports, including balance sheet account analysis/reconciliation, income statement analysis, report on changes in financial position/ budget variances.

Maintain fixed assets register and other similar records

Timely collection of debtor balance: Implementing credit policy through timely collection of debtors, resolving client queries and reporting thereon.

Preparation and submission of all Statutory and other Compliance forms and reports with government agencies e.g TEVET Levy, VAT. PAYE, WHT, FBT etc

Assist external auditors at year -end including preparation of schedules, invoices and explaining supporting materials and procedures.

Preparing /analyzing specific business management tools for all depts.

Qualifications and Experience

Diploma in Accountancy, ACCA Qualification and added advantage

At least 3 years’ Experience in reporting and business performance analysis roles

Strong account analysis/reconciliation background

Technically a sound professional finances and Control

Good Debt collection experience

Previous experience in SAGE or an Accounting Package is preferable

Good Computer skills in Excel, Word and Power point

Good Christian Values.

Age between 25 -45
