POSITION: GENERAL MANAGER

OVERVIEW 

At CRC Recruiting, we specialize in providing expert HR consulting services, including recruitment for a wide range of clients. On behalf of our client a Licensed Cannabis Production Company, we are hiring:

A GENERAL MANAGER

Location: Central Region

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Operations Leadership: Oversee entire cultivation, drying, curing, and processing operations to meet licensed capacity and GMP/GAAMP standards.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure 100% compliance with CRA and ARET licensing conditions, Ministry of Health, MBS, Environmental Affairs, and export requirements. Maintain audit readiness at all times.

P&L & Strategy: Manage budgets, cost control, yield optimization, and deliver monthly management reports to the Board.

Team Management: Lead and develop Agronomy, Processing, QA/QC, Security, and Admin teams. Target staff complement 50+.

Quality & Safety: Implement SOPs for traceability, hygiene, worker safety, and product quality.

Stakeholder Relations: Liaise with regulators, buyers, logistics partners, and community stakeholders professionally and transparently.

MUST HAVE REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor Degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Horticulture, or related field. Master’s is an advantage.

7+ year’s senior management experience, with 3+ years in large-scale agriculture, horticulture, or regulated crop production. Cannabis experience is an advantage but not mandatory.

Proven record of accomplishment managing P&L, large teams, and compliance-heavy environments.

Strong understanding of GMP, HACCP, and export documentation.

Excellent leadership, integrity, and report-writing skills.

Must be eligible to work in Malawi and pass a comprehensive background/security clearance.

DESIRABLE

Experience with regulated crops or pharmaceutical/agro-processing environments.

Knowledge of irrigation, greenhouse, or controlled environment agriculture.
