POSITION: CENTRAL STORES ASSISTANT
Location: Masuku, Mangochi
OVERVIEW
Tambala Estate is looking for a result driven Stores Assistant who will be managing daily operations of the warehouse. The ideal candidate should be hands on; targets focused and thrive in a fast-moving poultry industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Stock Receiving & Issuing
Receive, check, and verify all incoming goods against delivery notes, LPOs, and invoices for quantity, quality, and damage.
Issue stock to departments/employees on approved requisitions/GRNs and ensure proper documentation.
Maintain an up-to-date bin card/stock card system.
Stock Control & Record Keeping
Maintain accurate and up-to-date stock records.
Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly stock counts and assist with full physical stock takes.
Investigate and report any stock variances, shortages, damages, or expiries immediately.
Storage & Housekeeping
Ensure proper storage, arrangement, and labeling of goods to prevent damage, loss, or expiry – FIFO/FEFO principles.
Keep the store clean, organized, and safe at all times.
Maintain hygiene standards.
Ensure proper handling of sensitive items.
Documentation & Reporting
Prepare and file all store documents: GRNs, requisitions, etc.
Generate daily/weekly stock movement reports and highlight slow-moving, obsolete, or low-stock items to the Finance and Administration Manager.
Support audits by providing accurate records and documentation.
Security & Compliance
Control access to the store and ensure only authorized personnel handle stock.
Adhere to company policies, safety procedures, and regulatory compliance for stock handling.
Report any suspicious activities, leakages, or suspected theft.
Support & Coordination
Liaise with Procurement, Production and other departments on stock availability and needs.
Assist with loading/offloading and movement of stock within the warehouse.
Perform any other duties assigned by Management.
Reporting lines
Reports to: Finance and Administration Manager
Qualifications & Experience:
Certificate/Diploma in procurement and supply chain management or any related field.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience.
A valid National ID
Must be of 25 – 40 years of age.
