OVERVIEW

NBS Bank Plc, one of the leading commercial banks in Malawi, invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the following vacant position tenable at the Bank’s Head Office at Ginnery Corner in Blantyre.

STRATEGY MANAGER

Job Purpose

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the successful candidate will manage and oversee the development and implementation of strategic initiatives and business plans to ensure the bank’s long-term growth and competitiveness in alignment with the bank’s overall objectives.

Summary of Key responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following, among other responsibilities:

Develops and implements specific strategic initiatives.

Analyzes market trends and competitor activity to Identify opportunities for growth and improvement

Collaborates with departments to execute strategic plans

Monitors progress and adjusts strategies

Conducts market research and analysis

Develops strategic recommendations

Implements strategic initiatives

Collaborating with cross-functional teams to monitor and report on progress

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, or a related field

Minimum of five (5) years of experience in banking, finance, or a related environment, with at least three (3) years at a managerial level.

Proven track record in developing and executing successful strategies, product launches, and marketing campaigns.

Experience in leadership, team management, and cross-functional projects.

Proficiency in data analysis and using data to inform business decisions.

Experience in budget management and financial planning, allocating resources to drive business growth.

Skills and Competencies required

Ability to develop and implement strategic plans aligned with the bank’s objectives.

Strong project management skills, including coordinating cross functional teams

Analytical skills to interpret data and performance metrics to drive strategic initiatives.

Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities

Collaborative skills for working with senior management and other departments.

Flexibility to adapt to changing market conditions and organizational needs.

Competence in developing and monitoring key performance indicators (KPls).
