POSITION: ASSISTANT UNIT SUPERVISOR
Location: Lilongwe
OVERVIEW
A leading Industrial Catering Company with its headquarters in Lilongwe has the following immediate vacancy and invites applications from suitably qualified persons to be considered for the positions.
Responsibilities / Daily tasks
Assisting ordering and ensuring adequate supplies of stocks in liaison with management when required
Assisting ensuring timely reporting for duties by members of staff and keep records in the Daily attendance register book
Assisting ensuring that rules of personal hygiene are followed by all members of staff
Assisting ensuring that members of staff wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when performing their duties at all times
Assisting ensuring compliance with the use of equipment and other Health and Safety measures
Assisting allocating staff to do specific duties and also ensure that at least one First Aider is present per shift at all times
Reporting all dangerous occurrence incidents involving equipment and other Health and Safety issues to management
Assist liaising with the Human Resource Manager on staff welfare and disciplinary matters.
Assist conducting performance assessments for staff members on permanent establishment
Assist maintaining and remitting accurate financial and administrative records as per the company’s policy and procedures on time
Qualification / Requirements
Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) with at least a credit in Mathematics and English.
A Diploma or Certificate in Hotel Management from Malawi Institute of Tourism or any other recognized Institution.
Three years hands on practical experience in the hospitality industry.
Track record of managing sites diligently & profitably.
Additional qualifications in management, accounting, hygiene and any other related fields.
Good communication and leadership skills
Ability to spot and solve problems efficiently
