ABOUT THE ROLE
Al-Haqq Publications is calling for passionate reporters and writers who are eager to tell stories that drive real impact. We are offering support to journalists in producing high-quality Solutions Journalism stories that highlight how local communities and initiatives across Malawi are actively solving pressing social, economic, and development challenges. This is an opportunity to move beyond standard reporting and shine a light on practical, community-led solutions with evidence of impact.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
• Strong news gathering and storytelling skills.
• Ability to pitch stories that focus on practical responses, evidence of impact, and community-led solutions (not standard publicity pieces).
• Proven track record of publishing or broadcasting in recognized national or mainstream media platforms.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Identify and pitch compelling Solutions Journalism story ideas.
• Research and investigate community-led initiatives addressing social, economic, and development challenges.
• Conduct interviews and gather firsthand accounts from communities and stakeholders.
• Produce well-researched, accurate, and impactful articles for publication.
• Collaborate with Al-Haqq Publications to refine stories and ensure high editorial standards.
• Meet agreed deadlines for story submissions.
