The Challenge

Millions of opportunities go unseen in rural Malawi

Talented individuals in underserved communities face an invisible barrier: they never hear about the scholarships, jobs, grants and programs that could change their lives. Not because they don't qualify — but because those opportunities only reach people with reliable internet, smart devices, and digital literacy.

The result is a talent gap that costs communities their brightest futures and costs organisations the diverse workforce they're actively searching for. Mvungi Community Hubs exist to close that gap permanently.

Limited Internet Access

Most rural households have no reliable broadband or mobile data.

Missed Opportunities

Scholarship and job deadlines pass before word reaches remote villages.

Limited Career Guidance

No mentors, coaches or career centres exist in many rural districts.

Digital Exclusion

Without computer access, digital applications remain out of reach.

What Is It?

The Mvungi Community Hub Network

A network of physical access points, staffed by trained community agents, that bring the full Mvungi platform experience to people who can't access it online.

Why We Exist

Millions of talented people in rural and peri-urban areas of Malawi are invisible to employers, scholarship providers and NGOs simply because of where they live. Mvungi Hubs make them visible.

Who We Serve

School leavers, university graduates, artisans, women re-entering the workforce, farmers seeking agri-business opportunities, and any community member seeking to improve their economic situation.

How It Works

A trained hub agent sits with every visitor, helps them create a Mvungi profile, discover relevant opportunities, complete applications, and follow up — all for free.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Mvungi Community Hub?
A Mvungi Community Hub is a physical access point — typically a staffed room or office in a community — where trained agents help local people access digital opportunities on the Mvungi platform. Think of it as a free career and opportunity centre for your community.
Who can access a hub?
Anyone in the community can walk in. Students, school leavers, graduates, artisans, women returning to work, farmers, and anyone looking for jobs, scholarships, grants or career support is welcome — at no cost.
How much does it cost?
All hub services are completely free to community members. We are funded through partnerships, donor support and corporate sponsors so that the barrier of cost never prevents someone from accessing opportunity.
How can my organisation partner with a hub?
We welcome NGO, donor, training, corporate and government partnerships. Visit our contact page and select "Community Hub Partnership" to start a conversation with our partnerships team.
How can a community request a hub?
If you believe your community would benefit from a Mvungi Hub, use the "Suggest a Location" button on this page or contact us directly. We evaluate all requests based on community need and feasibility.
