About the Opportunity

Illovo Sugar (Malawi) plc invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Handyman Electrician at Nchalo Estate.

The successful candidate will undertake electrical installation, maintenance and repair tasks while observing the company's safety, health, environment, risk and quality requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should possess:

• Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE).
• Malawi TEVET Certificate Level 2 or National Trade Test Grade 1.
• Malawi Craft Certificate in Electrical Installation.
• At least two years of work experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Drill marked positions for the installation of electrical panels and fix bolts.
• Lay cables from panels to motors in trenches or cable trays.
• Fit components to electrical panels and connect cables safely.
• Repair welding machines and replace burnt cables and electrode holders.
• Install lights and socket outlets in irrigation and workshop areas.
• Replace carbon brushes and cables on drilling and generator machines.
• Adhere to Illovo's SHERQ, Competition Law and Anti-Bribery policies.
