Location: Blantyre

Contract: 1-Year Fixed Term (with possibility of extension)

Start Date: April 2026

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an independent international humanitarian organization providing medical aid to populations in crisis. MSF France is looking for an Outpatient Department Nurse for its Cervical Cancer project in Blantyre.

Main Purpose:

Providing nursing care, treatment, and follow-up of patients according to doctors' prescriptions, protocols, and universal hygiene standards to ensure quality and continuity of care.

Key Responsibilities:

· Implement and follow universal hygiene standards, infection control, and security protocols

· Organize and carry out care and treatments according to medical prescriptions

· Assist during consultations, daily rounds, and medical procedures

· Identify and refer Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) victims

· Ensure proper reception and installation of patients

· Perform triage in waiting areas and identify emergency cases

· Carry out admission, surveillance, and follow-up of patients

· Maintain administrative procedures and patient documentation

· Participate in pharmacy and medical equipment control

· Assist with translation during consultations when needed

· Register and document biopsy samples accurately

· Perform PHQ-4 for initial patients to identify mental health disorders

· Attend departmental meetings and prepare MDT lists

· Ensure biomedical equipment functions properly

· Enter patient information into Electronic Medical Record (EMR)

· Perform point-of-care (POC) tests and make reminder calls

· Assist doctors with LEEP and other procedures

Requirements:

Education:

· Essential recognized nurse diploma

· Desirable: Bachelor of Science in Nursing

· Valid registration with the Nursing Council of Malawi

Experience:

· Desirable: 2 years of previous experience

· Previous experience in other NGOs

· Demonstrable experience in supervising and training others

Language:

· Fluency in English and Chichewa
