POSITION: SENIOR ACCOUNTANT (FIXED TERM) – MALAWI

JOB DESCRIPTION 

JCM is a fully integrated renewable energy Independent Power Producer developing and operating clean energy projects in South and Southeast Asia, and Sub-Saharan Africa. JCM's largest shareholders are FMO, IFU, FinDev Canada, STOA, and Swedfund. These development finance institutions represent one of the largest investors groups who have collectively financed infrastructure projects across Asia and Africa. As a collaborative team of engineers, lawyers, accountants, and financiers, we manage the risks and complexities of financing and owning infrastructure projects, all the while making a large, measurable, and sustainable impact in the world.

JCM operates over 200MW of high-quality wind and solar assets and delivered the first utility-scale grid connected solar plus energy storage project in Sub-Saharan Africa, located in Malawi. JCM intends to develop and execute a pipeline of wind, solar and energy storage projects in Asia and Africa.

JOB SUMMARY:  

JCM is seeking to hire a Temporary Senior Accountant on a fixed contract for 3 months, based in Lilongwe, Malawi, reporting to the Country Manager - Malawi to assist with finance accounting functions.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Financial Planning & Budgeting:

Analyze budget vs actual performance

Forecasting of P&L & Cashflow

Accounts Payable:

Manage Accounts payable function

Review invoice approval system and ensure timely payments

Financial Reporting & Audit:

Manage financial statements audit

Lead financial reporting

Ensure IFRS compliance

Taxation & Compliance:

Oversee taxation function

Management of tax risks

Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
