About the Role

Mwaiwathu Private Hospital Limited is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Nurse Midwife Technician.

Reporting to the Nursing and Midwifery Unit Manager, the successful candidate will support the hospital’s nursing team and be directly involved in patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality and comprehensive nursing and midwifery care 

• Carry out doctors’ orders accurately and on time 

• Deliver direct and/or indirect patient care 

• Ensure strict adherence to infection prevention and control standards 

• Conduct patient admissions and discharges 

• Participate in hospital Quality Improvement initiatives 

• Assist in billing and service documentation processes 

• Administer medications correctly 

🎓 Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma in Nursing and Midwifery from a recognized institution 

• MSCE certificate (including English and Mathematics) 

• Must be registered with the Nurses and Midwives Council of Malawi 

• Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience in a busy hospital 

• Dialysis nursing experience is an added advantage 

Skills & Competencies

• Strong command of English (knowledge of local languages is an advantage) 

• Self-motivated, proactive, and honest 

• Ability to multitask and work with minimal supervision 

• Willingness to work odd hours
