About BEAM
Beautify Malawi Trust (BEAM) is a registered organization working to improve sanitation, hygiene, and community health across Malawi under its 2026–2030 Strategy.
Position Overview
The Project Officer will coordinate, implement, and monitor community-based projects, focusing on:
• Sanitation & Hygiene (Pillar 1)
• Community Health (Pillar 2)
You will work closely with communities, schools, and local authorities to deliver impactful and sustainable interventions.
Key Responsibilities
1️⃣ Activity Implementation & Coordination
• Lead hygiene campaigns (Clean Hands, Healthy Schools/Business)
• Oversee construction of WASH facilities in schools
• Support School Health Clubs & Menstrual Hygiene programs
• Implement “Zero-Waste Market” initiatives
• Mobilize communities for health & hygiene programs
2️⃣ Community Engagement & Capacity Building
• Conduct hygiene education sessions
• Train Community Health Workers (CHWs) & local committees
• Identify vulnerable groups (“Leave No One Behind” approach)
• Strengthen local community structures
3️⃣ Monitoring & Reporting
• Collect and verify project data
• Prepare reports, case studies, and success stories
• Track project progress and flag risks
• Document lessons learned
4️⃣ Stakeholder Engagement
• Work with TAs, ADCs, schools, and health centers
• Represent BEAM in district meetings
🎓 Qualifications & Experience
Education:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Environmental Health, Community Development, Social Work, or related field
Experience:
• Minimum 5 years in community-based projects (WASH, health, or livelihoods)
• Experience in training, community mobilization, and school health programs
Skills & Competencies
• Strong facilitation & communication (English & Chichewa)
• Knowledge of CLTS & participatory approaches
• Monitoring & evaluation skills
• Proficiency in MS Office
• Ability to work independently & in teams
• Passion for community development
• Willingness to spend time in the field
