POSITION: FARM MANAGER

OVERVIEW 

Glyn Acres Farm is a growing poultry production enterprise specializing in broiler and layer production. We are looking for a highly motivated, experienced, and results-oriented individual to join our team as Farm Manager.

JOB PURPOSE 

The Farm Manager will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day poultry farm operations, ensuring efficient production management, maintaining high animal welfare standards, optimizing feed utilization, and driving farm productivity and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of broiler and layer production units.

• Manage poultry health, biosecurity, vaccination schedules, and farm hygiene practices.

• Monitor feed consumption, bird performance, mortality rates, egg production, and growth targets.

• Develop and implement poultry feed formulations to achieve optimal bird performance and cost efficiency.

• Manage farm workers and ensure adherence to operational procedures.

• Maintain accurate farm records including production reports, feed usage, inventory, and performance indicators.

• Monitor and maintain poultry housing systems, equipment, and infrastructure.

• Ensure compliance with farm safety and operational standards.

• Identify operational improvements to increase productivity and profitability.

Qualifications and Experience

• Certificate, Diploma or Degree in Animal Science, Agriculture, Veterinary Science, Agribusiness, Poultry Production, or related field.

• Minimum of 3 years practical experience managing broiler and/or layer operations.

• Strong knowledge of poultry management systems.

• Practical experience in poultry feed formulation is mandatory.

• Knowledge of poultry nutrition, health management, and biosecurity systems.

• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple farm activities effectively.
