POSITION: INSPECTION ASSISTANT ( 3 POSITIONS)
Location: Blantyre, Liwonde, Mangochi, Nkhotakota and Salima
OVERVIEW
The National Water Resources Authority (NWRA) invites applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the following position:
Post: Inspection Assistant (3)
Grade: NW 7
Responsible to: Assistant Inspections Officer
Location: Blantyre, Liwonde/Mangochi, Nkhotakota/Salima
Purpose of the Job:
To provide technical and administrative support in inspections, compliance monitoring and enforcement activities.
Key Duties:
• Assist in carrying out routine and ad hoc inspections of water resources users and regulated sites • Collect field data, meter readings and maintain accurate records for reporting • Collect, label, handle and transport water samples for laboratory analysis • Assist in preparing inspection checklists, notices, and other documents • Prepare equipment and materials for inspection activities • Support civic education and stakeholder awareness on compliance requirements • Assist in compiling data and calculating annual charges for water resources use • Prepare and submit weekly and monthly reports on work done • Carry out data entry and records update
Minimum Qualification and Experience:
• Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) plus a certificate and/or experience in Water Resources Management, Environmental Management, Laboratory Science, Natural Resources Management or a related field • At least one (1) year of relevant experience in field support, inspections, sample collection, or records management will be an added advantage
