OVERVIEW
The Malawi Legal Aid Bureau, established under the Legal Aid Act of 2011, is a national public institution mandated to provide legal aid services to persons with insufficient means. The Bureau invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following vacant post:
Position: Supplies Assistant (1 Post)
Vacancy Number: LAB/1/26
Grade: Grade M
Reporting To: Assistant Procurement Officer
Duty Station: Zomba
Salary: Salary range of Grade M in the Legal Aid Bureau
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Maintaining accurate and comprehensive records of all supplies to the Bureau.
- Reconciling physical supply chain commodities and services with invoices and supply documents.
- Examining purchase orders to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
- Dispatching approved purchase orders and following up on delivery of commodities and services.
- Conducting physical stock checks in stores.
- Compiling statistical information on supply chain-related matters.
- Checking and examining the quality of materials before accepting deliveries or arranging dispatch.
- Assessing vendors’ capacity to deliver commodities and services.
- Assisting Management in preparing quotations, tenders, and bid tabulations for approval.
- Assisting in requesting invoices and documentation for commodities and services to be supplied.
- Assisting in managing property and disposal of assets.
- Assisting in producing standard asset management reports and other asset information periodically and when required.
- Assisting in planning goods delivery and providing updates on requests and availability of items in the storeroom.
- Undertaking any other duties assigned by relevant authorities.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must possess:
- A minimum of Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or its equivalent.
- A Certificate in Purchasing and Supply or a related field with at least one (1) year of experience.
- Applicants with a Diploma will have an added advantage.
