Overview
The Youth Development Unit (YDU) of Ungweru Organisation delivers Human Development, Peace-Building, and Justice Programmes aimed at empowering young people to make informed decisions and become agents of positive change within their communities.
Applications are invited from qualified, motivated, and passionate individuals to fill the position of Youth Programs Assistant.
Job Purpose
The Youth Programs Assistant will support the coordination, administration, and implementation of youth development programmes targeting young adults. The successful candidate will assist with programme delivery, administrative and financial tracking, stakeholder engagement, and reporting to ensure the smooth implementation of Youth Development Unit initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation and day-to-day coordination of youth development programmes.
- Assist with planning, facilitation, knowledge management, and evaluation of programme activities.
- Support project financial management by tracking budgets, documenting expenses, and reconciling financial records.
- Coordinate workshops and engage community committees and stakeholders.
- Assist in preparing programme structures, budgets, and implementation plans.
- Collaborate with the Youth Development Unit and other organizational teams on joint initiatives.
- Collect programme data and prepare field reports to support accountability and transparency.
Qualifications & Experience
Applicants should possess:
- A Diploma in Community Development, Social Work, Youth Work, Project Management, or a related Social Science discipline.
- Demonstrated experience or a strong interest in youth development, life skills facilitation, or human development programmes.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills, including the ability to manage records and track project expenses.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience as a volunteer or facilitator in peer-led youth programmes (such as the SELL Programme) will be an added advantage.
