POSITION: BUTCHERY ASSISTANT

Location: Blantyre 

OVERVIEW 

Ekhaya Farms Foods, a subsidiary of Ekhaya Group of Companies and a fast-growing retail food chain in Malawi, is seeking a vibrant, dedicated, and experienced individual to join our team in Lilongwe and Blantyre.

POSITION: BUTCHERY ASSISTANT

Key Requirements:

• MSCE plus Certificate in Food Production, Meat Processing, Hospitality, or a related field will be an added advantage. 

• Minimum of 1-2 years' experience in a butchery, supermarket, abattoir, or meat processing environment. 

• Good knowledge of meat cutting, trimming, portioning, packaging, merchandising, and display techniques. 

• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards, and proper handling, storage, and preservation of meat products. 

• Ability to operate butchery equipment and tools safely and efficiently.

 • Strong customer service skills with the ability to assist customers with product selection and special requests. 

• Physically fit with the ability to work in cold environments and lift heavy products when required. 

• Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
