ABOUT THE ROLE

Kasasa Private School, located in Dwangwa, Nkhotakota District, is a co-educational primary school offering the Cambridge Curriculum (Early Years to Stages 6) to learners aged 3 to 12 years. The school is supported by a distinguished Board of Trustees including Dwangwa Sugar Corporation (DSC), Ethanol Company (ETHCO), Dwangwa Cane Growers Limited (DCGL), and Dwangwa Cane Growers Trust (DCGT).

We are seeking a skilled, reliable, and proactive Handyman to carry out routine maintenance and repairs of school buildings, furniture, and equipment, ensuring that the school premises remain safe, clean, and conducive for learning.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

• Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or equivalent.

• A certificate in Carpentry, Plumbing, Electrical Installation, Building Maintenance, or a related trade will be an added advantage.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in general maintenance or handyman services.

• Practical skills in plumbing, carpentry, painting, masonry, and minor electrical repairs.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

• Experience working in a school or institutional environment will be an added advantage.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Carry out routine maintenance and repairs of school buildings, furniture, and equipment.

• Perform basic plumbing, carpentry, painting, masonry, and electrical maintenance.

• Inspect school facilities and report major maintenance requirements.

• Maintain school grounds and ensure the premises are clean, safe, and secure.

• Adhere to workplace health and safety standards.
