POSITION: ACCOUNTANT

Location: Blantyre

OVERVIEW

ETG Agri Inputs Ltd Malawi, a leading supplier of quality agricultural solutions including fertilisers, seeds, crop protection products, farm tools and expert agronomy services, is looking for a suitably qualified, motivated and results-driven Accountant to join its team in Blantyre.

Key Responsibilities

- Maintain accurate financial records and accounting documentation.

- Process and verify invoices, receipts, payments and other financial transactions.

- Perform bank, supplier and customer reconciliations.

- Prepare financial reports and support monthly and annual financial closing processes.

- Monitor accounts payable and receivable.

- Assist with budgeting, cash-flow monitoring and financial analysis.

- Ensure compliance with company financial policies and procedures.

- Maintain proper filing and documentation of financial records.

- Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation.

- Work closely with procurement, logistics, warehouse and sales teams to ensure accurate financial records.

- Perform any other accounting duties assigned by management.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.

- Minimum 2 years’ relevant accounting experience.

- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.

- Good computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and accounting systems.

- Strong analytical and numerical skills.

- High level of accuracy, integrity and attention to detail.

- Good communication and organisational skills.

- Experience in the agricultural, trading, manufacturing or FMCG sector will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

- Accurately enter and update data into company systems and databases.

- Capture sales, inventory, procurement, logistics and other operational information.

- Verify data for accuracy and completeness before submission.

- Maintain and update electronic and physical records.

- Prepare routine data reports and summaries.

- Identify and correct data-entry errors.

- Assist various departments with document processing and data management.

- Maintain confidentiality of company and customer information.

- Support filing, scanning, printing and other administrative duties.

- Perform any other duties assigned by management.

Requirements

- Any recognised tertiary certificate.

- Minimum 1 year of relevant data-entry or administrative experience.

- Excellent typing and data-entry skills with a high level of accuracy.

- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and other office applications.

- Strong attention to detail.

- Good organisational and time-management skills.

- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

- Good communication and interpersonal skills.

- Previous experience in agriculture, logistics, warehousing, sales or FMCG will be an added advantage.
