POSITION: HR MANAGER
Location: Mbabzi Estate, Lilongwe, Malawi

MMC Laboratories Limited is an API processing factory located at Mbabzi Estate, Lilongwe. We are seeking to recruit a suitably qualified, experienced, and highly motivated HR Manager to support operations at our newly constructed cannabis processing facility.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic and operational human resources support, ensuring effective people-management practices, maintaining positive employee relations, and ensuring compliance with applicable employment laws and company policies.
The HR Manager will work closely with management and employees to support organisational objectives through effective recruitment, performance management, employee development, employee relations, and the implementation of HR policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Industrial Psychology, or a related field.
- A relevant professional HR qualification or membership of a recognised HR professional body will be an added advantage.
- At least 5 years' relevant experience in Human Resources, preferably with experience in a managerial position.
- Sound knowledge of employment practices, HR principles, and applicable labour legislation in Malawi.
- Experience in employee relations, recruitment, performance management, and disciplinary processes.
- Strong computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with HR or payroll information systems will be an advantage.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, implement, and continuously review HR policies, procedures, and practices.
- Manage the full recruitment and selection process, including job descriptions, advertising, interviews, selection, and onboarding.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR documentation.
- Manage employee relations and guide management and employees on workplace matters.
- Administer disciplinary and grievance procedures in accordance with company policies and applicable employment legislation.
- Coordinate employee performance management, including probation reviews, performance appraisals, and performance improvement processes.
- Identify training and development needs and coordinate appropriate training programmes.
- Oversee leave administration, attendance, staff welfare, and other employee benefits.
- Work closely with management on workforce planning, staffing requirements, and organisational development.
- Ensure compliance with applicable labour and employment legislation and other relevant regulatory requirements.
- Prepare regular HR reports, workforce statistics, and management reports.
- Support the development of employee engagement and retention initiatives.
- Advise management on HR matters and provide practical solutions to workplace challenges.

- Perform any other duties reasonably assigned by management.
