POSITION: PRINCIPAL INTERNAL AUDITOR

Location: Blantyre

OVERVIEW

The Local Government Service Commission is inviting applications from suitable qualified Malawians to fill the following vacant positions existing at BLANTYRE CITY COUNCIL

POST: Principal Internal Auditor

GRADE: M4/G

SALARY: In line with Terms and Conditions of Blantyre City Council

QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must be in possession of Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Applied Accounting, Auditing and Information Systems and should have Four (4) years’ experience. Applicants must be registered members with Institute of Chartered Accountants in Malawi (ICAM). ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA.

DUTIES:

Reporting to the Director of Administrative Services. the Principal Internal Auditor will be responsible for the following:

Supervising internal audit staff

Planning, organizing, directing and controlling internal audit assignments.

Liaising with the Human Resource section with regard to training programs for the audit staff

Checking systems and audit transactions to ensure that they comply with international standards

Produce annual risk profiles and suggest control measures

Producing monthly and quarterly reports on all audit assignments carried out.
