POSITION: PRINCIPAL SYSTEMS ANALYST/PROGRAMMER

Location: Blantyre

OVERVIEW

The Local Government Service Commission is inviting applications from suitable qualified Malawians to fill the following vacant positions existing at BLANTYRE CITY COUNCIL

POST: Principal Systems Analyst/Programmer

GRADE : M4/G

SALARY : In line with Terms and Conditions of Service for Blantyre City Council

QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must be serving Systems Analyst/Programmer (Grade I/M6) with four (4) years’ experience at that grade and in possession of a bachelor’s degree in either Management Information Systems, Computing. Those with a Qualification in Cyber Security will have an added advantage.

DUTIES

Leads the ICT Team at the Council.

Prepares detailed system requirements, incorporating system, impact analysis as well as user cases.

Conducts reviews with Systems Analysts and other users.

Reviews technical system design as well as quality authorization test strategy/ plan documents.

Participates and manages change control procedures and issue related lists.

Defines application problems by liaising with clients.

Develops solutions by preparing and evaluating alternative workflow solutions.

Controls solutions by establishing specifications and coordinating production with programmers.

Provides reference by writing documentation.

Support the Council’s mission and objectives by ensuring successful delivery of information systems initiatives and achieving related outcomes as required.”
