POSITION: SYSTEMS DEVELOPER

Location: Blantyre

OVERVIEW

Credit Data CRB Limited is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Systems Developer. The Systems Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting enterprise software solutions that drive the organization's credit data management, reporting, integration, and operational processes. The role involves developing secure, scalable, and reliable systems while ensuring high performance, data integrity, and compliance with industry standards.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related field.

Professional certifications in software development, databases, cloud technologies, or cybersecurity will be an added advantage.

Knowledge of software development methodologies such as Agile/Scrum.

Strong understanding of software engineering principles and system architecture.

Strong programming skills in languages such as: Java, Python, PHP, JavaScript, or similar languages.

Strong knowledge of backend development and API design.

Proficiency in relational databases such as: PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server.

Understanding of software security principles.

Experience with version control systems such as Git.

Understanding of Docker/containerization and CI/CD practices is desirable.

Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in software development, systems development, or application support.

Experience developing enterprise-level business applications.

Experience working with relational databases and large datasets.

Experience designing and integrating APIs.

Experience working with financial systems, credit systems, banking platforms, or data management systems will be an added advantage.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise software applications.

Develop and maintain backend services, APIs, and system integrations.

Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

Enhance existing systems to improve functionality, performance, and reliability.

Design, optimize, and maintain databases, queries, and stored procedures.

Ensure data accuracy, integrity, security, and consistency within systems.

Develop secure integrations with external systems and financial institutions.

Provide production system support, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.

Monitor application performance, logs, and system health.
