Urban and Rural Group Limited is a fast-growing, dynamic construction firm specialized in building, civil engineering, infrastructure rehabilitation, and sustainable waste/solar management projects. We pride ourselves on executing high-quality projects within strict time and cost constraints by utilizing advanced project management techniques. We are looking for an experienced, meticulous Quantity Surveyor to join our team of construction experts and drive commercial success.
JOB PURPOSE
The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for managing all financial, cost, and contractual elements of our construction projects. From initial feasibility studies and Bills of Quantities (BOQs) preparation to final account reconciliation, you will ensure our projects remain profitable, value-driven, and legally compliant.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Education: Bachelor's Degree (BSc) in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a closely related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within a reputable construction or civil engineering firm.
- Professional Affiliation: Registration with a relevant professional body, or currently in the process of obtaining professional registration, is highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Exceptional proficiency in technical drawing interpretation, cost-estimation software, and MS Excel.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Cost Estimation & Planning: Prepare detailed preliminary cost estimates, feasibility studies, and budget plans based on structural and architectural drawings.
- BOQ & Tender Preparation: Compile accurate Bills of Quantities (BOQ), tender packages, material take-offs, and commercial documentation for bidding.
- Contract Administration: Assist in drafting, negotiating, and administering sub-contractor and main contract agreements.
- Valuations & Variations: Conduct regular site visits to measure completed works, prepare interim monthly valuations (IPCs), evaluate project variations, and manage claims.
- Financial Control: Monitor project expenditures, cash flows, and resource allocations to ensure strict adherence to defined project budgets.
- Vendor & Subcontractor Management: Source market-competitive pricing, evaluate supplier quotations, and manage subcontractor payment certificates.
- Other Duties: And any other duties assigned from time to time.
