POSITION: SITE SUPERVISOR/FOREMAN
Location: Mzuzu
OVERVIEW
VPBS is seeking an experienced and hands-on site supervisor/foreman to coordinate daily site activities and ensure construction work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Supervise daily construction and building activities.
2. Coordinate skilled workers, artisans, and general laborers.
4. Allocate daily tasks and monitor workforce productivity.
5. Ensure work is carried out according to drawings, specifications, and instructions.
6. Monitor workmanship and quality of completed work.
7. Control the use and handling of construction materials and equipment.
8. Monitor site safety and ensure workers use appropriate PPE.
9. Report daily progress, challenges, material requirements, and site issues.
10. Coordinate with the project manager and other site personnel.
11. Ensure proper housekeeping and organization of the construction site.
12. Assist in identifying and resolving technical and operational issues.
Requirements
1. Certificate, trade test, diploma, or equivalent qualification in building, construction, or a related field.
2. At least 3 years’ experience in construction site supervision or foreman duties.
3. Practical knowledge of building and construction activities.
4. Ability to coordinate and supervise construction workers.
5. Ability to interpret basic construction drawings and measurements.
6. Strong leadership and communication skills.
7. Good understanding of construction safety and quality requirements.
8. Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
9. Experience in painting, masonry, tiling, concrete works or building maintenance will be an advantage.
