POSITION: COMPLIANCE MANAGER

About the Role
The Compliance Manager will be responsible for implementing and administering Compliance Management for the Company in accordance with Select Africa Group policies and procedures, while ensuring compliance with all applicable Malawi laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Anti-Money Laundering (AML) & Combating the Financing of Terrorism (CFT)
Act as the primary AML/CFT compliance contact.
Implement and maintain AML/CFT programmes and procedures.
Conduct compliance and KYC reviews.
Monitor client activity and identify suspicious transactions.
Liaise with regulatory authorities and submit required reports.
Conduct ongoing AML/CFT training and awareness initiatives.
2. Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management
Manage relationships with regulators and coordinate regulatory submissions.
Maintain compliance risk management plans and compliance registers.
Conduct compliance monitoring and gap analyses.
Ensure adherence to all applicable legislation and regulatory requirements.
Assist with regulatory inspections and audits.
Provide compliance guidance and support to management and operational teams.
3. Reporting & Governance
Prepare and present compliance reports to management and relevant committees.
Monitor regulatory developments and advise the business on potential impacts.
Assist with internal audits and control assessments.
Promote a strong culture of compliance across the organisation.
Requirements
Qualifications
Relevant undergraduate qualification (BA LLB or similar preferred).
Compliance Officer’s Examination qualification will be advantageous.
Experience
Minimum of 3 years’ relevant compliance experience.
Financial services industry experience is essential.
Knowledge of African financial services regulatory environments will be advantageous.
