About the Position
Ekwendeni College of Health Sciences, under the University of Livingstonia, invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Cook (Grade Q).
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing meals, maintaining food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness, managing food supplies, and ensuring safe food handling.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
- Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE).
- A Certificate in Catering will be an added advantage.
- At least three years of experience working in a busy environment.
- Willingness to work irregular shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals according to menus, recipes, and required quality standards.
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene, safety, and kitchen cleanliness.
- Monitor food supplies, manage stock, and minimise wastage.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of food to prevent contamination.
- Maintain kitchen equipment.
- Perform other duties assigned by management.
