POSITION: TRAINEE DATA ENTRY CLERK
Location: Lilongwe, Area 23 Branch
Reporting to: Branch Manager
Duration: 6 months

We are inviting applications from suitably qualified and dedicated candidates to fill the vacant position of trainee Data Entry Clerk. This role provides an excellent opportunity for hands-on learning and professional development. The successful candidate will support the Management Information Systems (MIS) and Operations functions through data entry, record management, and basic system processes, while gaining practical exposure to loan processing, data management, and reporting within a microfinance environment under close supervision.
Key Learning Areas and Responsibilities
Assist in capturing loan application data in the system, ensuring accuracy and completeness under supervision
Support the recording of daily transactions and maintenance of relevant registers
Learn and assist in basic loan processing activities, including approvals, disbursements, and repayments
Verify completeness of loan documentation and ensure proper filing of records
Support the MIS team in maintaining accurate system data and generating basic reports
Assist in responding to routine system-related queries with guidance from supervisors
Participate in daily system backups and data management processes
Report any identified data or system issues to the supervisor
Undertake additional administrative and learning tasks as assigned
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Diploma or Degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, with willingness to learn new systems
Basic understanding of accounting principles is an added advantage
Strong attention to detail and eagerness to learn
Good time management and organizational skills
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision
High level of integrity, reliability, and a proactive attitude
